“We were already mutual admirers of each other’s work,” says Tenpenny. “When I approached Kathy with my idea, she was immediately receptive to the notion, and said I should come to her studio and ‘show’ her. “When we met in each other’s creative space, a little magic ensued. Ideas were popping, heads were spinning, creative energy was flowing, and we only wished that time would stand still so we could work on all the possibilities.”
“Collaborating with a fellow artist like Lynnda is a great experience, “says Bradley, “and combining these two elements (paper and metal) was really fascinating. I have worked in a wide variety of styles and media during my art career, so this was really interesting and fun.”
Lynnda Tenpenny, an award-winning mixed media artist, presents a new body of work based on her love of layers and patterns, but focusing on the addition of metallics. Bradley, who already is an accomplished craftsperson in several media, is using some of Tenpenny’s papers in jewelry making, and the two swap not only ideas, but texture and pattern-making tools.
